WESS 2019: Josep Garcia Wins BR2 Enduro Solsona in Spain

This time I will give an update on the seventh series of the World Enduro Super Series (WESS) 2019 which is the classic enduro genre, the BR2 Enduro Solsona in Spain. It turns out that the BR2 Enduro Solsona is really controlled by the racers from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team. No half-hearted, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing put three riders on the first to third podium. Even in the fourth position is still occupied by the KTM satellite team racer. Who are they?

Maybe you already know that WESS is a multi-disciplinary enduro racing competition. WESS 2019 combines hard / extreme enduro racing with classic enduro and cross-country racing. In total this 2019 season WESS consists of eight series consisting of five series of hard / extreme enduro racing, two classic series enduro and one series cross-country. Each racer will get points in each series with the maximum points earned in each series is 1,000 points. The racer who accumulates the most points at the end of the season gets the WESS title called The Ultimate Enduro Champion.

Well … Because the BR2 Enduro Solsona is a classic enduro race, it’s no wonder that a number of racers who have a classic Enduro background are soaring here. An example is Josep Garcia from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing who dominated so much in all sessions that he finally won the BR2 title Enduro Solsona 2019. Then Josep Garcia’s teammate at KTM, Nathan Watson, was equally impressive. The former motocross racer who switched to enduro was able to stick tightly to Josep Garcia. Unfortunately Nathan still had to settle for being on the third podium.

“I feel very happy to be able to win here in my hometown, in front of all my friends and family.
I felt I was getting more pressure when playing in my country, but that also gave me motivation to win.
In general this is a sweet weekend, “said Josep Garcia.

One thing that is interesting in the BR2 Enduro Solsona 2019 is a number of racers who actually have a hard / extreme enduro background are starting to show off in the classic enduro competition. Call it Johnny Walker (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) who is able to occupy the third podium under Josep Garcia and Nathan Watson. At the top of the WESS 2019 standings, Manuel Lettenbichler (KTM Supported), appeared to be no less attractive even though he was not racing in his field. Manni is in fourth position BR2 Enduro Solsona thus establishing himself as leader of the WESS 2019 standings.

After BR2 Enduro Solsona, WESS 2019 still leaves one more series, GetzenRodeo in Germany, which is classified as a hard / extreme enduro competition. The racers with extreme enduro backgrounds such as Manuel Lettenbichler, Johnny Walker, Taddy Blazusiak, Graham Jarvis, Alfredo Gomez, to Sherco racer duo Mario Roman and Wade Young are predicted to show teeth here. GetzenRodeo is at the same time an opportunity for Manni to win the WESS 2019 title!
